The Canadian Blood Services (formerly Red Cross) built this facility to not only meet today’s standards, but to use this facility as an opportunity to demonstrate the new agency’s transparency. This is achieved through the extensive use of glazing and the openness of the atrium.
The functional flow for this facility was purposely designed to meet and exceed current GMP standards, while providing a warm and inviting environment collections area for blood donors.
This facility has also become a center of excellence for research and immuno-genetics.
